1. Continue to Pray for us, the project, God's direction, the neighborhood, laborers, and financial provision, safety and protection from injury during the renovation, etc.

2. Come Serve with us. It is amazing how God uses His people for His purposes. Consider "Yes I will" and what a difference it will make in impacting changed lives here, in you, and in your home and community!!!

3. Prayerfully consider becoming a financial supporter and contributor to " Building A Bigger Porch" We believe God provides for that which He endorses. We are counting on Him to touch the hearts of people to support His will in this neighborhood. Why? Because God always wants the praise, honor , and glory for His stuff!

Volunteer Teams

We are preparing for volunteers to begin coming and partnering with us, for what God has called us to , beginning October 15th, 2011. If you are interested in serving with us, you can make your reservations by contacting Joan Hathaway at 504-523-5556 or email at joanh@urbanimpact.org

Missionary cost for the week is $235.00 per person which includes room and food accomodations.

Urban Impact is an urban ministry of 22 years which serves this community on a variety fronts. We have seen our ministry grow since Katrina and with people coming to faith monthly.

UIM is committed to building a new ministry center.  Growth in all ministry areas dictates that we will need to begin building as soon as possible.

Building a Bigger Porch....

The need to build continues

In our community, the porch is the hub of family activities, where grandmothers watch their grandchildren play, neighbors swap stories and parents rest after a hard days work.

For nineyears, our present facility has been our porch, our gathering place.

While our current facility has served us well, it has limited our ability to expand our impact on the neighborhood for several years now. For example:

    • Due to our small court size, our Friday and Saturday night basketball outreaches can only accomadate so many young men from the community.  Our new facility will have a high school quality gymnasium that will allow us to form basketball leagues and essentially impact a larger group of young men.
    • Every Sunday Castle Rock Community Church is over-flowing.  We simply cannot fit anymore bodies into our sanctuary on a Sunday morning.  In order to continue reaching the truly lost in our community we need to be able to include them in our Sunday morning worship.

Therefore, we are going to build a bigger porch which will allow us to continue transforming the Central City of New Orleans.
