Building a Bigger Porch
Ground Breaking June 1st!
.
In our community, the porch is the hub of family activities, where grandmothers watch their grandchildren play, neighbors swap stories and parents rest after a hard days work.
.
For seven years, our present facility has been our porch, our gathering place.
.
While this facility has served us well, it has limited our ability to expand our impact on the neighborhood for several years now. For example:
-
There is a great need to be able to expand Urban Impact Leadership Academy, an alternative high school that has seen tremendous success this year.
-
Due to our small court size, our Friday and Saturday night basketball outreaches can only accomadate so many young men from the community. Our new facility will have a high school quality gymnasium that will allow us to form basketball leagues and essentially impact a larger group of young men.
-
Every Sunday Castle Rock Community Church is over-flowing. We simply cannot fit anymore bodies into our sanctuary on a Sunday morning. In order to continue reaching the truly lost in our community we need to be able to include them in our Sunday morning worship.
.
Therefore, we are going to build a bigger porch which will allow us to continue transforming the Central City of New Orleans. Below you can take a look at the the details of building this state of the art community center.
