For many of you who have come in the past, the trip to New Orleans has been a life changing experience. Student missionaries and sponsors have left with a new perspective on life and a deeper relationship with Christ.
Since Hurricane Katrina, many things have changed. However, this is a perfect opportunity to raise up mission minded kids in our neighborhood. Our summer program will challenge students to "crossover" to follow Jesus boldly and minister across cultures. The following weeks will be high school weeks this summer.
WEEK 1 June 7-14
WEEK 2 June 14-21
WEEK 3 June 21-28
WEEK 4 July 5-12
WEEK 5 July 12-19
WEEK 6 July 19-26
WEEK 7 July 26-August 2
Our program next summer will include:
- Day Camp (New for 2008) Your kids will join us as we run an arts and recreation Day Camp for kids in our neighborhood. We'll include Bible lessons and sports activities.
- Cross-training- all week long your kids will get trained in evangelism and cross-cultural ministry as they serve with us.
- Challenge Circle (recreational outdreach) in housing projects
- Loving our neighborhood kids
- Training by our experienced staff
- Dormitory style living
- Worship
- Personal Quiet Time
All these will stretch and challenge the lives of teenagers. Our goal is to have teens not just do it here in New Orleans, but to take it home and change their schools and communities.
